Made by an artist with artists in mind.
Watercolor Caddy creator, Griffin Ess, has been a professional illustrator since 2008. Always on the go he had learned to adapt his loadout to fit into the hustle and bustle of a crowded bar, cafe, cafeteria, classroom, or train table.
Like any watercolor artist he owns a dozen different watercolor kits but none actually made it easier to work on the go. They just each changed what the hassle was. For years, he searched for a watercolor kit that had it all:
- Both sets up and packs up in 30 seconds.
- Compact enough to fit in most of his packs, slings, totes, comfortably.
- Easy to sway half pans.
- Enough storage for the tools I prefer instead of just what's included.
- Water cups built in.
- A mixing plate that stores upright, instead of folding over.
Every kit on the market that solved one of these issues fell short on two others.
Griffin talked to other creatives for recommendations and instead only found out they had different pain points with their own needs not being met by the designs available.
He eventually started to develop a design that addressed all the issues that hobbyists, students, and professionals suffered in one package.
Initially he was only trying to find a crafter for a handful of these kits for those in his immediate circle, but the more people found out what he was making the more people asked for one.
So now we have the Watercolor Caddy, an all-in-one portable watercolor kit that checks all the boxes.
